As a celebration of our 50th Anniversary, the DMYC is hosting a Regatta in conjunction with the DBSC. This Regatta will be held on Saturday June 27th and Sunday June 28th.

Rules

The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing. The sailing instructions are the current DBSC sailing instructions applicable on the Saturday and to the SB20 Sunday fleet race.

Sunday will be the Drifter Class “race”, and family day at the club. Entry into the Drifter Class is done by registering with Kevin Burke (our Commodore) on the day at the DMYC.

Eligibility & Entry Requirements

Boats in the following classes will be eligible to enter:

  1. Any boat registered to race on Saturday or Sunday in DBSC.
  2. Entry will be as per their DBSC classification.
  3. Entry is restricted to DBSC members.
  4. “Drifter Class”. A “fun” class for any other boats wishing to participate in this event. Racing in this class is restricted to Sunday only.

The declaration on the ‘electronic’ Entry Form, must be completed by the boat owner or his/her authorized representative and, if the owner is under 18 years of age, by his/her parent or guardian. Entries close at 23:00 on Thursday the 25th June, 2015. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Committee and only on payment of a €20 late entry fee.

Entry Fees

All classes are €10, with an option to support the RNLI for an additional €5.

Prizes: 1st, 2nd and 3rd where there are 2, 5 and 7 entries in the class respectively.

Handicaps and division of Classes

Fleets will be divided as per their current DBSC divisions / allocation

Ashore

All Owners, Skippers and Crew will be Honorary Members of the DMYC on the days of the Regatta. This privilege may be withdrawn at the discretion of the Committee. Prize giving will take place at approximately 16:00 on Sunday 28th. There will be a barbecue (outside, weather permitting), after sailing on Saturday and Sunday. The Dun Laoghaire Motor Yacht club would like to express its gratitude and thanks to Dublin Bay Sailing Club for their assistance with this event.
